Arkansas Historic Preservation Program - Monday, April 02, 2018

The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program will offer a free training session Saturday, April 28, for anyone interested in nominating a property to the National Register of Historic Places, the country’s official list of historically significant sites.

The training session will be held beginning at 9 a.m. in the Diamond Room at the Department of Arkansas Heritage Building at 1100 North Street in Little Rock. The session will include background information on the National Register, the criteria for listing properties on the National Register, and instruction on completing a successful National Register application.

For more information on the free session, call the AHPP at (501) 324-9880 or send an e-mail message to [email protected]. Registration is limited to the first 40 applicants.

The AHPP is the Department of Arkansas Heritage agency responsible for identifying, evaluating, registering and preserving the state’s cultural resources. Other agencies are the Arkansas Arts Council, the Delta Cultural Center in Helena, the Old State House Museum, the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center, the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission, the Historic Arkansas Museum and the Arkansas State Archives.
