Preserve Arkansas to Visit Cane Hill

Arkansas Historic Preservation Program - Monday, September 24, 2018

Each fall, Preserve Arkansas hosts a “ramble” or bus trip to a different region of the state. The Ramble explores Arkansas’s heritage sites for an exceptional experience filled with history and fun. Make plans to join us on November 3 for this year’s Ramble as we journey to Historic Cane Hill: Washington County’s First College Town! We will tour the town of Cane Hill and learn about the Cumberland Presbyterians who settled the area, Cane Hill College (chartered in 1850 and the first college in the state to admit women), and Cane Hill's prominent role in northwest Arkansas’s apple industry. Ramblers will also visit Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park to learn about the Civil War Battle of Prairie Grove and tour the historic Borden House.

The bus will depart from First Presbyterian Church - Argenta in downtown North Little Rock. A half-day ticket option is also available. You will provide your own transportation for the half-day option.

Tickets for the Ramble are $125 and include motor coach transportation, historic site tours, snacks and libations on the bus, and meals. Tickets for the half-day option, which includes lunch and dinner, are $65. Preliminary itinerary and registration information are available at www.PreserveArkansas.org. For more information, please contact Preserve Arkansas at 501-372-4757 or [email protected].
